Tree Lighting Tips from the Christmas Tree Experts
If you want to light-wrap your tree yourself, these unlit artificial Christmas trees make it simple. They come pre-wired with an extension cord in the center so you can integrate your light strings with ease. And speaking of making things easy, check out our answers below to common tree-lighting questions we receive.
- How many lights are needed for a 6-foot tree? There are different schools of thought on this, but 100 to 200 lights per foot is generally a good rule of thumb. So, for a 6-foot tree, you’d want to use a total of 600-1,200 lights. Use closer to 600 if you want more sparse lights, and closer to 1,200 if you want a more brightly lit tree.
- How many lights are needed for a 7-foot tree? Using the above logic, you would want to use 700 to 1,400 lights for a 7-foot tree.
- How many lights are needed for a 9-foot tree? For a 9-foot tree, 900 to 1,800 lights is the ideal range.
